Chippenham 2’s vs. Sutton Benger 1’s

Sutton Benger could not keep up their encouraging start to life in Dorset and Wilts 1 North with a loss away to Chippenham 2’s.  After a hard earned victory in their opening encounter against Calne, Sutton Benger struggled to contain Chippenham from the start and found themselves behind on the scoreboard within the opening moments of the first half. Some absent defending from the Benger back line allowed the opposition 15 to stroll over the line, a player Benger would struggle to come to terms with for the duration of the game. A valiant Benger pack started to dominate their opposition 8, including prop Simon Drage making good ground in the open, though the match would ultimately be settled by the Chippenham backline who ran in five unanswered tries before the game being called early due to an injury to Sutton Benger back row Olly Steen. A penalty from fly half Chris Crome was little consolation to the visitors as Chippenham ran out 29-3 victors.
